If you are experiencing a recent loss (health, job, death of a loved one, or divorce), it is crucial that you process it with a trained professional. Research indicates unaddressed grief has negative health implications and effects our current relationships.
The butterfly does not look back at the caterpillar in shame, just as you shouldn't look back at your past in shame. Your past was part of your own transformation.
Effective communication is key to conflict resolution. It includes learning to assert yourself without sounding confrontational, as well as practicing active listening.
Besides CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Structural and Solution-Focused, we use Restoration therapy (RT). RT helps the individual to identify their dysfunctional patterns of negative feelings, which correspond to their reactive behaviors resulting in destructive coping mechanisms. Learning about the difference between The Pain and Peace Cycles helps our clients become aware of their own patterns of thoughts and behaviors. Learning how to choose their truths and strengths with proper techniques changes their perspectives; hence, their relationships.
