"Huis" means "hope" in Armenian. The Huis Center is created to inspire hope, provide healing and transformation through counseling, psychotherapy and psychoeducation. It offers services in English and Armenian. Huis Center reaches out to the surrounding communities of Los Angeles and Fresno Counties.

Dr. Tamar Sevajian, LMFT

  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with specializations in grief and loss recovery (Grief Care), relationship issues, divorce recovery, self-esteem, boundaries, stress & anger management, and Christian counseling
  • Skilled in: Couples' premarital and marital counseling; helping couples improve their emotional connection; running support groups (Grief Care, Anger/Stress management, Relationship Toolkit)
  • Graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary for her MS MFT, and Northcentral University for her Doctorate in MFT with dissertation focus: A Multi-Framework Theoretical Approach Supporting Collective Trauma Recovery and Complicated Grief
  • Fluent in Western Armenian language with extensive cross-cultural experience
  • Additional certifications: Restoration Therapy, Grief Recovery Method, Anger Management, Marriage Strong, Prepare & Enrich (Premarital Counseling), EFT & Hope Focused Counseling, and Family Wellness
  • Member of CAMFT (California Association for Marriage & Family Therapy) since 2012
  • Member of AAMFT (American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy) since 2017
  • Member of AAMHA (Armenian American Mental Health Association) since 2014 and former chair of education committee
